What Is Window Shades Automation?

PowerView® Automation is sometimes called window shade automation, blind automation, and window treatment motorization. This system is the Hunter Douglas brand’s motorized control option that’s compatible with most of their styles.

The motorized solution uses a small, integrated motor within the frame controlled by a wireless signal. You operate the window treatment with the Pebble® Remote, PowerView® App, or voice commands—on the spot or programmed in advance. That hidden motor receives signals to move the fabric or material without visible cords or pulls.

The Benefits of PowerView® Automation

There’s a long list of advantages that make window shades automation worth the investment, such as:

1. Increased Convenience and Effortless Control

Imagine opening your blinds without getting out of bed. Isn’t that nice? PowerView® Automation is cordless for unmatched convenience. You can also schedule your shades, blinds, or shutters to open and close at specific times to match your daily routine.

2. Improved Energy Efficiency

Shade, shutter, or blind automation can optimize energy usage. Program them to remain open during the sunniest part of the day or to stay close when it’s cold outside. This feature is especially effective if you have insulating window coverings like cellular shades.

3. Enhanced Home Security

Programming your window coverings to adjust regularly makes it look like individuals are home, even when the house is empty. Making your space look occupied can deter potential intruders for an added layer of protection. Think about how valuable that feature would be when you’re working, away for the day, or on vacation.

4. Advanced Accessibility and Safety

PowerView® Automation means you’ll never worry about hard-to-reach windows. It’s also safer for curious children and small pets but just remember to keep the remote out of reach.
